What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are the best form of permanent tooth replacement.

At Impeccable Smiles, we want to help you learn more about dental implants so you can feel confident when choosing the best tooth replacement for you. Let’s start by going over what dental implants are.

Dental implants are a popular form of root replacement for people missing teeth. They provide a seat for a permanent crown (aka replacement tooth) and bond to your bone so they provide stable support for replacement teeth.

Impeccable Smiles uses materials and procedures for dental implants that achieve several important things:

  1. A strong bond between the implant means there’s no slippage so you can eat what you want and speak with confidence.
  2. The whole procedure is completed in our office, all in one place.
  3. Our dental implants offer an effective long-term solution for tooth replacement.

Why Get Dental Implants?

Dental implants can help you feel confident smiling again.

  1. Dental implants fit, feel, and function like natural teeth
  2. You’ll retain your natural face shape and smile
  3. You won’t have to regularly repair dental implants
  4. You won’t have to worry about eating what you want
  5. Dental implants may help prevent bone loss in the jaw
  6. There’s no slippage or other movement
  7. You can regain confidence in your smile

What Types of Dental Implants Do You Offer?

We offer several types of dental implant procedures at Impeccable Smiles. Let’s find out which one is right for you.

Single tooth replacement

Lose a tooth from an accident or a dental condition? This is the procedure for you. There are three components to this procedure.

  • The implant bonds to the bone and replaces the root
  • The abutment is a connector that holds your new tooth
  • The crown replaces your tooth and attaches to the abutment

Implant bridges

Missing three or more teeth? This is the option for you.

  • Implants can be placed to support a bridge
  • The bridge is cemented in place so it can’t be removed

Implant supported dentures

If you need a full arch replacement and want an affordable option, this is the right procedure for you.

  • 2-4 lower and 4-6 upper implants are placed to anchor a removable denture
  • Secure enough to eat the foods you want
  • Snaps in and out for easy cleaning

Acrylic-titanium hybrid implant bridge

If you have moderate bone loss, you may be a candidate for this procedure.

  • 4-5 lower and 4-8 upper implants are placed for support
  • These implants are retained by screws so they can’t be removed
  • Made of acrylic teeth which are easy to repair
  • The acrylic teeth fit on a titanium metal base screwed into the implants
  • The dentist must unscrew the bridge for annual cleanings

Implant supported full arch bridge

If you recently lost your teeth and have minimal bone loss, this may be the right procedure for you.

  • 4-5 lower and 4-8 upper implants are placed for support
  • These implants are retained by screws so they can’t be removed
  • Made of porcelain teeth
  • The porcelain teeth fit on a titanium metal or white Zerconium base screwed into the implants
